Key Details At A Glance:

  • Enrollment Period: October 9 – October 29 at 10pm ET
  • Certification Week: Nov. 2-9
  • A nail tech license is not required, but some experience in gel nails and thorough knowledge of nail and gel terminology is required
  • One real hand (yours or model) free of product is required
  • The class fee does not include products (See below for class materials.)
  • The total time of instruction is approximately 4 hours; plus additional time to practice and complete your certification assignment.

Nail Thoughts Products are required, and must be bought separately. A 20% class code is issued for use on regular priced items after enrollment.

Course Description:

The Nail Thoughts Certification is a program to certify you in the application of long wearing structured overlays using Nail Thoughts Base (NTB), a soak-off, bottled builder gel system.

After taking and implementing this course you will have the knowledge and tools to help you apply Nail Thoughts Bases quickly and efficiently, so that you can reduce your application time and end up with overlays that require minimal finish-filing and last 3+ weeks!

Nail Thoughts Bases are offered in clear and tinted shades. The NTB in clear is a two-in-one product with base and build components suitable for overlaying short to medium-length natural nails. The tinted bases are 3-in-1, with the same characteristics of the clear base, but with color added to them. The NTBs are a thin-medium viscosity, offered both in bottle or pot form for your convenience (same formula).

In addition to bottled builders, the Nail Thoughts Line offers bottled gel colors, and a bottled wiped-required top gel.

The Nail Thoughts Bottled gel line is manufactured from scratch by KOKOIST in Japan, and curated by California-based nail artist, Katie Masters.

  • Common mistakes to avoid to prevent service breakdowns

Practical

  • Manual prep (using cuticle tools and hand files)
  • How to overlay a short nail length
  • How to overlay a medium nail length
  • How to fill using NTB
  • How to rebalance using NTB
  • Two Nail Thoughts signature design
  • One freestyle design

Course Materials:

The following materials are required for certification:

Upon enrolling you will receive a 20% class code to order the products needed from Kokoist USA.

  • Nail Thoughts Training Manual

All of your table supplies for gel nail services; including but not limited to curing unit, 90% alcohol, lint free towels, manicuring implements, etc.

How Do I receive Certification?

You will receive one physical Nail Thoughts Certificate upon completion of the following:

  • Submit a portfolio assignment by the deadline of November 9th, 11:59pm ET, using the required Nail Thoughts products
  • A $15 processing fee (paid by me after portfolio submissions.)
  • If you do not complete a portfolio, you do not qualify to receive your certificates, and there’s a $50 fee to rejoin next season.
We will make an attempt to print & ship international student’s certificates, however, under some circumstances beyond our control this may not be possible. Neither KOKOIST or Paola offer digital certificates for this program.

What happens During Certification Week?

Every student will have their own unique login. Our courses will be pre-recorded for the convenience of anyone to join at any time, and from any place. This also allows our students the convenience to watch and re-watch in high quality video and audio! (BTW you’ll have a total of 30 day-access to watch, and re-watch at your convenience!)

However!… I’m super excited to meet you all in  a LIVE Q&A session scheduled for Wednesday Nov. 5th @ 7:00 pm ET. (Video on please! I want to see you, and of course… class photo!)
