The Russian Manicure is a deep, dry efile manicure that focuses on the preparation of the folds around the nail and the nail plate itself to prep it for application of a structured gel overlay.
A Russian Manicure is not a structured overlay. It is the deep removal and preparation of the skin surrounding the nail plate to get it ready for that structure gel overlay application.
Three classic characteristics of the Russian Manicure are heat sterilized tools, very sharp manicure tools for precision, and diamond efile bits, particularly a flame bit.
After attending two Russian Manicure trainings myself, I became convinced that a good chunk of my clientele… like over 90%, did not need or qualified for this procedure. Neither did I need to further burden myself with more supply expenditures and increasing the service time.
But I did enjoy the challenge that learning the Russian Manicure gave me.
It showed me that details matter, and that I could do better.
So I took what I needed from my trainings, and made a procedure of my own that took the risk and complexity of the standard Russian Manicure.
The results are still stellar, without significantly increasing my product cost or my time.
And in this Russian Manicure Course, this is exactly what you’re going to learn. My Modified Russian Manicure technique, I hope you enjoy it.
